Scientists have launched a new distress call, warning that the effects of human extermination of wildlife are threatening to extirpate our species from this planet.
Humans have lost 60 percent of their animals to mammals, birds, fish and lizards since 1970. Recently, the Executive Secretary of the UN Convention on Biological Diversity said that if we do not act now, we may become the first species to document its extinction.
But scientists believe a plan must be implemented that will be the miracle that will save us all. To be able to allocate half of the planet's space to natural reserves that do not reach human activity, ecosystems will be able to rehabilitate themselves to thrive life on earth

أطلق العلماء نداء استغاثة جديد، محذرين بأن آثار ما يقوم به البشر من إبادة للحياة البرية باتت خطراً يهدد بفناء جنسنا من على هذا الكوكب.
تسبب البشر في خسارة الأرض لستين في المئة من حيواناتها من الثدييات والطيور والأسماك والسحالي منذ العام ١٩٧٠، ومؤخراً صرحت الأمينة التنفيذية لاتفاقية التنوع البيولوجي في الأمم المتحدة، بأنه إن لم نتحرك الآن فقد نصبح أول جنس يوثق انقراضه.
لكن العلماء يعتقدون بوجوب تنفيذ خطة ستكون بمثابة المعجزة التي ستنقذنا جميعاً. أن تمكنا من تخصيص نصف مساحة الكوكب لتكون محميات طبيعية لا يصل النشاط البشري إليها، فسوف تتمكن الأنظمة البيئية من إعادة تأهيل نفسها لتزدهر الحياة على الأرض مجدداً.
