دير سانت كاترين: قلقٌ بشأن تعثّر الإجراءات من الجانب المصري

القضية عالقةٌ في مأزقها: "من جهة، تُبذل جهودٌ لمصادرة ممتلكات الدير، ومن جهة أخرى، يُمنع الدير من الحصول على تمثيلٍ قانوني، لعدم صدور المرسوم الرئاسي الذي يُخوّله تمثيل دير سانت كاترين أمام المحاكم المصرية"، وفقًا لمصادر نقلتها بارابوليتيكا. ويُقال إن جوًا من القلق يسود أوساط دير سانت كاترين في سيناء، إذ مرّ أكثر من سبعة أشهر على صدور حكم المحكمة والتأكيدات المتبادلة من الحكومتين اليونانية والمصرية، ومع ذلك لا تزال القضية عالقةً في مأزقها.

Saint Catherine’s Monastery: Anxiety Over Why Procedures Are Not Advancing on Egypt’s Side

The case is stuck at “ground zero”: “On the one hand, there are moves to seize the monastery’s property, and on the other, it is not being allowed legal representation, because the Presidential Decree on the basis of which Saint Catherine’s Monastery would be represented before the Egyptian courts has not been issued,” sources cited by ParaPolitika note. A climate of anxiety reportedly prevails within the monastic community of Saint Catherine’s Monastery in Sinai, as more than seven months have passed since the court ruling and the reciprocal assurances given by the Greek and Egyptian governments, yet the case remains stuck at what sources describe as “ground zero.”
